Frequently Asked Questions

What will it cost to do this?
Nothing! College Cable pays for all equipment and installation.

Is the system reliable?
The equipment used encompasses the most advanced state-of-the-art technology available.

Will several large satellite dishes need to be installed on campus?
No. Your campus typically requires only one - small as three feet in diameter, rooftop digital satellite system.

Who will program and maintain the system?
College Cable will program and maintain the private cable television system.

Will the students be able to receive all the cable programs?
Yes, at a very competitive rate.

Can I get these same features and incentives from the local cable company?
No. The local company's system is not set up for such features as a dedicated information channel, educational channels, or customized programming. Furthermore, considering they still have dominant coverage throughout the area, they certainly are not compelled to share revenue.

How long will it take to install all the equipment and wire the rooms, if wiring is necessary?
It typically takes around three months, depending on the size of the campus.

What if the college or university is not happy with the service?
We guarantee it. If the institution is not happy with our service, you can cancel our contract and connect with any other available service.

Who owns the wire after it is installed?
The institution owns the wire immediately after it is wired. College Cable owns the head-end equipment and distribution electronics, unless the institution wants to purchase the equipment.
